SUMMARY: The role will be responsible for ensuring our business
operations and procedures comply with legal regulations and
internal policies. In this position, you will perform a range of
duties including evaluating all current and new compliance
regulations, reviewing company processes, and leading training
sessions. The successful candidate will be an excellent
communicator, with in-depth knowledge of the latest industry
procedures and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following; other duties will be assigned in a
progressive manner.
--- Develop and oversee all business operations relating to
compliance including policies, investments, regulations, and
procedures.
o Shaw vendor contact monitoring
o Determine Shaw contractual language
--- Participates in developing and enhancing the organization's
internal controls and compliance procedures in relation to
customers, suppliers and product development.
--- Draft, modify, implement, and monitor control systems to
prevent or deal with violations of legal rules and internal
policies.
o Update and maintain corporate compliance manual
o Free Trade Agreement Knowledge (USMCA, Buy America, GB/EU,
etc.)
o Certification generation
o Customer / 3RD party portal certifications
o Country of Origin calculation/methodology
o Import / Export documentation
o Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification knowledge
o REACH/RoHS determination and certifications
--- Collaborate with corporate counsels and external compliance
partners to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
o USMCA/CMRT solicitation management
o Screening of potential suppliers and related entities for denied
party status or US government sanctions, e.g., OFAC sanctions
o EAR and ECCN management
o Antidumping, Export License, Prop 65 and debarment knowledge
--- Ensures that the organization's practices follow requirements
and regulations, arranging visits and resolving complex compliance
related issues in communication with regulators.
--- Manages the day-to-day performance of compliance assessment
projects. Analyzes and resolves compliance issues.
--- Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify
hidden risks or common issues.
--- Coordinate cross-functionally to review all departmental
compliance policies.
--- Perform periodic audits on company procedures and processes,
and lead employee training sessions on legal and compliance
issues.
--- Keep abreast of regulatory developments as well as evolving
best practices in compliance control.
--- Serves as a resource for interpretation of existing regulations
and contractual provisions. Prepares written responses to inquiries
from regulatory agencies.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and/
or experience in law, business administration or relevant field.
Experience required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Professional in Human
Resources (PHR) certification preferred; not required.
