Job Description:
Job DescriptionOur team is seeking a dynamic and energetic
individual to join our growing Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery
practice. The person in this position is part of the team concept
in The Woodruff Institute's health delivery system, which is
devoted to the delivery of the highest quality dermatologic and
aesthetic care in an outpatient clinical setting, with emphases on
personalized, quality care in an elegant environment. S/he will
assist providers in performing MOHs surgeries.Essential
functions
- Complete start-of-day tasks as assigned
- Greet and escort patients to examination rooms
- Interview patient to verify demographics, medical history and
purpose of visit
- Prepare patient for examination or MOHs surgical
procedures
- Record physical examinations, document assessments/plans,
complete diagnostic coding
- Complete lab slips and other forms as necessary
- Perform wound dressing changes, suture removals, prepare and
administer injections
- Educate patients regarding treatment procedures, medications
and physician's instructions
- Follow universal precautions to protect patients, provider and
self
- Send electronic prescriptions as necessary
- Abide by HIPAA rules by completing and safeguarding medical
records while maintaining confidentiality
- Abide by OSHA rules to clean and sterilize instruments and
dispose of contaminated supplies
- Assist with patient phone calls and/or emails as necessary
- Complete end-of-day tasks as assignedCompetencies

may be a risk of exposure to communicable diseases therefore the
temperature at the locations is kept low to minimize the spread of
germs and bacteria.Physical demandsThis position requires long
periods of standing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting. Must
have the ability to lift and carry minimum of 20 lbs. REQUIRED
education and experience
- High School diploma or GED required
- One-three years as a Medical Assistant assisting with MOHs
surgeries Preferred education and experience
- Associate degree or higher
- Medical Assisting Certification
- Ability to speak, read and write English.Just SOME of our
