SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) and Senior HR
Generalist (SHRG) support HR Leadership in managing the day-to-day
operations of the Human Resource department. The HRG and SHRG
assist managing the administration of the human resources policies,
procedures and programs. The Generalists carry out assigned
responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resource
Information Systems (HRIS), payroll, team member relations,
training and development, benefits, HR department development and
recruiting with a progressive approach to each. Activities will be
assigned in a progressive manner based on role (HRG / SHRG) and
each role will have an assigned facility and client group.
Primary Objectives:
--- Supporting a progressive human resources department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following; other duties will be assigned in a
progressive manner.
Development of the Human Resources Department:
--- Assists with the development, administration and sustainability
of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce
with the strategic goals of the company as delegated.
--- Helps to identify, evaluate, and resolve human relations, team
member morale, work performance, and organizational productivity
concerns with sustainability milestones for on-going
improvement.
--- Assists and reviews policies to ensure effectiveness,
compliance and equity within the organization.
--- Ensure departmental conformity with applicable HR related
regulations and statutes.
--- Identify legal requirements and governmental reporting
regulations and ensures policies are in compliance with all Federal
and State laws.
--- Assists in development and implementation of new HR programs
and policies as needed by the organization.
--- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect
the continual improvement in efficiency of the organization.
Training and Development:
--- Assists with the implementation and sustainability of the
performance management system and team member development
programs.
--- Assists with the establishment and sustainability of an
in-house team member training system that addresses organizational
needs including training, needs assessment, new team member
orientation, on boarding, management development, production cross-
training.
--- Assists with the selection and contracting of external training
programs and consultants.
--- Provides necessary education and materials to managers and team
members including workshops, manuals, and standardized reports.
--- Create, facilitate and schedule team member training and
development courses.
Employment:
--- Maintains and updates the team member cultural guide, job
descriptions and organizational charts as needed.
--- Manages the recruitment process for exempt and non-exempt team
members and interns using the standard recruiting and hiring
practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior
skilled and qualified workforce.
--- Administers all classified recruitment job posting.
--- Reviews resumes for all candidates and interview non-exempt and
exempt candidates for employment when assigned.
--- In partnership with client group, create and participates with
department managers progressive discipline procedures and/or
termination proceedings based on the nature of the situation.
--- Reinforce safety standards and incentives for workplace safety
to reduce workers compensation claims.
--- Team member Relations.
--- Partners to communicate human resources policies, procedures,
programs and laws to department managers.
--- Recommends team member relations practices necessary to
establish a positive employer-team member relationship and promote
a high level of team member morale and motivation.
--- Conducts investigations when team member complaints or concerns
are brought forward.
--- Monitors unemployment claims or inquiries.
--- Advises and counsel department managers on employment
issues.
--- Communicates changes in organizations personnel policy and
procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed as
assigned.
Benefits:
--- Provides day-to-day benefits administration services. Assist
team members with any claim issues as permitted by HIPAA and guide
team members to the appropriate carrier for resolution.
--- Facilitates enrollment meetings to explain benefits to team
members during on-boarding and annual enrollment.
--- Develops and schedules benefits orientations and other benefits
training.
--- Administers the 401(k) plan and completes yearly compliance
reporting.
--- Administers disability and worker's compensation claims in
relation to required accommodations and / or loss time.
Law:
--- Complies with all existing governmental and labor legal and
government reporting requirements including any related to the
Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Team member
Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor,
worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA), and so forth. Maintains minimal company
exposure to lawsuits.
--- Protects the interests of team members and the company in
accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental
laws and regulations.
SUPERVISORY SKILLS: Self-supervisory skills in a human resources
environment with the ability to make independent decisions required
while working independently with a one-team approach. The HRG may
report directly to the SHRG while working on assigned projects.
QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES: In daily work, a team member is
responsible to maintain or exceed the degree of excellence
requested by the internal and external customers of this
department. This includes following established policies, following
ISO 9001 & 14001 policies, business practices, and work
instructions, using problem-solving techniques to solve root causes
of problems, and viewing quality as customer satisfaction. Shaw

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
--- A Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education
and/ or experience in Human Resources, Business, or Organization
Development / progressive HR experience / Experience in employment
law, compensation, organizational planning, organization
development, team member relations, safety, training, and
preventive labor relations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Professional in Human
Resources (PHR) certification preferred; not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general
business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures,
financial reports, legal documents and governmental regulations.
Ability to respond to common inquiries in writing from team members
and regulatory agencies. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively
present information and respond to questions from managers, team
members.
