SUMMARY: The Senior Engineer is responsible for definition,
execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing
and control of major engineering projects where a substantial
amount of initiative and creativity are involved. The Senior
Engineer is expected to lead the concept development and evaluation
of significant new projects. Embraces and executes the Company Core
Values. Actively supports the Company's vision and goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following; other duties will be assigned in a
progressive manner.
Develops technical solutions and manages design quality, cost, and
timing to meet program milestones. Broad scope of responsibilities
includes components and systems.
Responsible for working cohesively with a group of engineers
responsible for similar products on other applications, actively
engaging in team issue resolution.
Capable of managing very broad or numerous projects with high
degree of difficulty.
Exercises independent judgment, with minimal input from
supervisor.
Identify and manages development activities as appropriate.
Directs the design, analysis, release, and test of parts and/or
subsystems for production.
Provides feedback to management (i.e. progress to timing,
evaluation of test results).
Interfaces with suppliers.
Releases component designs on-time with excellence.
Manages change control for design responsible components.
Demonstrates that designs meet requirements through analysis,
development and validation processes.
Analyzes design through design failure modes effects analysis
(DFMEA).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory
responsibilities but is expected to act as a mentor to more junior
engineers and may serve as a team lead.

responsible to maintain or exceed the degree of excellence
requested by the internal and external customers of this
department. This includes following established policies, following
ISO 9001 & 14001 policies, business practices, and work
instructions, using problem-solving techniques to solve root causes
of problems, and viewing quality as customer satisfaction. Shaw

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BS degree in Senior Engineering program and typically a minimum of
5 years of work experience in Senior Engineering.
Strong knowledge of circuit design and analysis including PCB
fabrication and testing.
Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and engine
management controls.
Knowledge and understanding of vehicle power integration
requirements (e.g. transients, EMC, RFI etc.) and industry
specifications.
Ability to specify and analyze validation tests for vehicle sensors
and electrical components.
Circuit and control system trouble shooting skills.
Thorough knowledge of design, development and test engineering,
manufacturing and assembly operations.
Ability to manage multiple project assignments as well as identify
and remove roadblocks.
High level of understanding of robust engineering tools/methods,
i.e. DFMEA, DVP&R.
Excellent analytical problem solving skills where problems are very
unusual and challenging.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Detail oriented, self-motivated with a strong sense of personal
ownership and a team attitude.
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with and
motivate others.
Ability to work independently while prioritizing and supporting
multiple tasks in a high paced and exciting environment.
Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident due to Shaw
Development's ITAR Policy.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general
business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures,
or governmental regulations in English. Ability to write reports,
business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English. Team
member must be ability to communicate to fellow team members in
English.
MATHEMATICAL/ANALYTICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply advanced
mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, trigonometry
quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply
mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution,
determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of
variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor
analysis. Ability to apply analytical concepts such as material
stress, fluid flow, pressure drop and thermal analysis.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data,
establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret
an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or
diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete
variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of computer software used
(ProE) and engineering drafting, Ability to read blueprints, have
knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing processes.
